Plot of Adult Trainee (2021)
“Adult Trainee” is a coming-of-age series that revolves around the lives of three students from Garam High School, each dealing with their own struggles related to life, love, and self-identity.
- Seo Jae-Min (Ryoo Ui-Hyun) is a high school student who has developed an unhealthy habit of compulsively watching adult videos at home. In his homeroom class, the students are assigned new seats, and Jae-Min ends up sitting next to Bang Ye-Kyung (Mi Yeon), a girl with a quirky personality and a pretty appearance that catches his eye. Smitten by her, Jae-Min decides to give up his obsession with adult videos for 100 days in hopes of becoming a more appealing romantic interest for Ye-Kyung. The question remains: can he truly change his ways and win her heart?
- Ban Yu-Ra (Jo Yoo-Jung) and Kim Nam-Ho (Ryeo Un) have been neighbors and childhood friends for as long as they can remember. However, Yu-Ra’s world is shaken when her boyfriend, Song Yi-Joon (Lee Chan-Hyeong), dumps her for being too conservative, only to start dating her best friend, Kang Da-Hyun (Park Se-Hyun). In a moment of desperation, Yu-Ra impulsively claims that she is now dating Nam-Ho, dragging him into a fake relationship that is meant to last for 100 days. Will this pretend romance lead to something more genuine?
- Son Na-Eun (Kwon Young-Eun) stands out from her peers due to her larger physique. Struggling with self-esteem, she tries to diet to fit in but also finds comfort in eating. One day, Na-Eun discovers a note in her locker praising her for having perfect hips and encouraging her to stay true to herself. The note is signed by “J,” sparking Na-Eun’s curiosity. She soon suspects that the mysterious “J” could be the popular student Choi Kang-Joon (Kim Min-Ki). Could he really be the one who admires her from afar?
The series explores the complexities of teenage life, the challenges of fitting in, and the journey towards self-acceptance and love.
