In No Gain No Love – Son Hae-Young (played by Shin Min-A) is a fiercely practical woman who refuses to lose money under any circumstances. Growing up, she always had to share her mother’s love and attention with others, leaving her feeling somewhat neglected. In her romantic relationships, she often found herself involved with partners who didn’t quite meet her expectations, always falling below her personal “breakeven point.” Now, she faces a new challenge: the possibility of missing out on a much-desired job promotion at her workplace. Determined to avoid this potential loss, Son Hae-Young devises a bold plan—she decides to stage a fake wedding.
To pull off her plan, she needs a groom, and that’s where Kim Ji-Wook (played by Kim Young-Dae) comes in. Kim Ji-Wook works part-time as a cashier at a convenience store. He has a kind heart and can’t help but assist those in need, always striving to do the right thing. At work, he’s known for his smooth and friendly demeanor with every customer—except for one: Son Hae-Young. For reasons he can’t quite explain, he finds himself flustered and awkward whenever she comes into the store.
Despite their awkward interactions, when Son Hae-Young unexpectedly asks him to be her fake groom, Kim Ji-Wook somehow agrees to her unusual proposal. What starts as a mutually beneficial arrangement begins to evolve as they navigate the complexities of their fake relationship, leading to surprising discoveries about themselves and each other.
