In See You in My 19th Life, Ban Ji-Eum (played by Shin Hae-Sun) carries the burden of remembering all her previous lives. From the age of 8 to 12, she starts recalling memories from her past lives, a gift—or perhaps a curse—that has followed her through countless reincarnations. With each new life, the weight of these memories grows heavier, and she finds herself wishing more than anything that she could be free of them, hoping that each life will be her last.
In her 18th life, Ban Ji-Eum lived as Yoon Joo-Won, and at just 12 years old, she met a young boy named Mun Seo-Ha. The two formed a close bond, a rare connection that left a lasting impression on her. However, that life ended, and she was once again reborn, this time as Ban Ji-Eum. Now, in her 19th life, she encounters Mun Seo-Ha (played by Ahn Bo-Hyun) once more, but this time, he is an adult. Remembering their past together, she approaches him with a deep affection, fully aware of who he is and what he meant to her in her previous life.
Mun Seo-Ha, on the other hand, has endured great loss. As a child, he lost several people he loved dearly, including his first love, Yoon Joo-Won. The pain of these losses caused him to shut himself off from others, avoiding relationships and connections that might bring him more heartache. His carefully constructed walls begin to crumble, however, when the enigmatic and persistent Ban Ji-Eum enters his life. Her strange familiarity and the intensity of her affection intrigue and unsettle him, leading him to question everything he thought he knew about love, loss, and fate.
