Plot of The Potato Lab 2025
In The Potato Lab Kim Mi-Kyung (Lee Sun-Bin) is a passionate and dedicated researcher who has been working at the Potato Research Institute for 12 years. Located in a quiet mountain valley, the institute has been her home and workplace, where she has devoted herself entirely to her research. She leads a simple and disciplined life, deeply immersed in her work with potatoes, and has little interest in anything outside her field of study.
However, her peaceful routine is disrupted when So Baek-Ho (Kang Tae-Oh) arrives at the institute. Unlike Mi-Kyung, he is not there out of scientific curiosity or dedication. So Baek-Ho is a sharp and ambitious man with an attractive appearance and a bright smile, but beneath his charm lies a cold-blooded capitalist mindset. He prioritizes profit over research and sees everything from a business perspective, which immediately puts him at odds with Mi-Kyung.
From the moment they meet, the two are constantly at odds. Their personalities and ideologies clash on almost every matter, leading to frequent disagreements and conflicts. Mi-Kyung is driven by scientific passion and a commitment to research, while Baek-Ho focuses on financial gains and efficiency. Their differing views create tension and challenges as they are forced to work together at the institute.
