Plot of The Uncanny Counter (2020)

In The Uncanny Counter, a group of individuals known as “Counters” are tasked with hunting down evil spirits that prey on humans. Each member of the group possesses unique abilities that aid them in their mission. To maintain their cover, they disguise themselves as employees at a noodle restaurant.

So Mun (played by Joe Byeong-Gyu) is a high school student and the youngest member of the Counters. He has extraordinary physical strength, a gift that sets him apart. So Mun’s tragic past includes a suspicious car accident that took the lives of his parents and left him with a limp in his left leg.

Ga Mo-Tak (played by Yu Jun-Sang) is a former police officer who lost his memory due to an accident seven years ago. Despite his amnesia, Ga Mo-Tak remains a righteous and principled individual.

Do Ha-Na (played by Kim Se-Jeong) can sense evil spirits from great distances, and when she touches someone, she can read their memories. Her skills make her an essential member of the team.

Chu Mae-Ok (played by Yum Hye-Ran) serves as the chef at the noodle restaurant, but her role as the anchor of the Counters goes far beyond cooking. She is the emotional backbone of the group, offering guidance and support.

Choi Jang-Mool (played by Ahn Suk-Hwan) is the first Counter in Korea and is responsible for managing the group’s finances. His experience and wisdom make him a key figure in their operations.

Together, these unique individuals form a powerful team, dedicated to protecting humanity from malevolent spirits while maintaining the facade of an ordinary noodle restaurant.
